What is home staging?

Home staging is the art of preparing your home for sale so that the bestselling features are highlighted and prospective buyers can envision themselves living there. A home staging plan can include suggestions of furniture placement, decluttering, brightening a room with a fresh coat of paint or other easy changes that will give you a great return on investment.  Homestaging also includes depersonalizing rooms so that people can easily imagine how your house can become their new home.

Why should I stage my home?

Home staging is important in any market because well staged homes typically sell faster and for more money.

According to the National Association of Realtors, over 80% of home buyers find it easier to visualize a property as their future home when it has been professionally staged. And 90% of potential home buyers start their search for a new home on line.  Once a home is well staged, it shows better both in person and in photographs used to market your home.

Most buyers decide whether they like a house after spending only a few minutes inside.  With proper home staging, more buyers will be interested and make a connection to your home.

What else can home staging do for me?

Streamlining, de-cluttering and depersonalizing your home now, means less work when it's time to move.  All the things you love can travel with you to your new home, but this is a great opportunity to reevaluate the need for furniture and knickknacks that no longer function in your lifestyle.  We can assist you in posting items for sale,

or donating unwanted items.

What is home styling?

Home styling  is the process of re-working rooms in your home so that they make the best use of your space and reflect your personal style. Unlike staging where the goal is to present a somewhat neutral canvas, homestyling celebrates your personal taste and preferences, and often uses your current furnishings as well as adding or rearranging accessories and artwork to make each room more visually appealing.

Homestyling takes into consideration your current lifestyle, so the end result is an environment that works for the life you're living now. Home styling can also be useful in preparing for a move to a new home.  We're available to visit your new home and plan the space with you before you move.  That way you'll know what to bring and where to put it when you get there.
